About BearingPoint

We have a long history that dates back more than a century to the beginnings of Arthur Andersen and KPMG, two prominent names in the professional services industry. The influence of these giants in the field of consulting has contributed to our unique strengths and identity. Arthur Andersen established his accounting firm in Chicago in 1913. Over the years, the firm expanded its accounting services and later ventured into consulting in the 1970s. In the early 1990s, Arthur Andersen became the leading management consulting firm globally. Concurrently, KPMG was also growing its consulting arm. KPMG spun off certain consulting divisions as KPMG Consulting Inc. in 2000, and the following year, KPMG Consulting Inc. became a publicly traded company on the NASDAQ. The company then embarked on a swift worldwide expansion, including the acquisition of a majority of Arthur Andersen’s business consulting practices in 2002. In that same year, the company rebranded as BearingPoint Inc. and transitioned to the NYSE.

Our Creation

In August of 2009, the founding partners finalized the agreement that launched us as an independent firm specializing in management and technology consulting, fully dedicated to the enduring success of our clients and our collaboration. Our management buyout (MBO) was built on a solid foundation, as many of us had already worked together at the European branch of the former BearingPoint Inc. We were a newly established firm with a rich history and a deep understanding of how to provide top-notch service, meet client needs, and operate effectively. Together, we possessed a wealth of diverse experience and expertise, knowing exactly how to thrive. Essentially, we were a wellestablished startup. Since day one, we have leveraged this strong legacy in consulting, bringing the best practices along with us on our journey towards excellence.

The essence of our firm – our identity, brand, values, and core mission – who we are, what we stand for, and why we exist – the elements that remain constant in our ever-evolving world, were refined during those intense early days

Health & Social Care

We provide support to healthcare and social care providers to enhance outcomes and value. The healthcare industry is currently experiencing a major transformation as it grapples with various challenges and opportunities. The increasing demand for services, driven by factors such as an aging population, rising chronic illnesses, and global health crises like COVID-19, is putting immense pressure on healthcare systems.

In this evolving landscape, improved data accessibility and digital healthcare solutions offer a promising future for healthcare delivery. These advancements empower a shift towards proactive and personalized preventive care, ensuring more equitable healthcare access and highlighting the costeffectiveness of preventive care over curative treatment. This shift also leads to significant cost reductions associated with hospital-based care. However, this transition comes with its own set of challenges, including the need to reassess outdated reimbursement models and address data access and interoperability issues. Effectively managing these obstacles is essential for unlocking the full potential of digital healthcare and data driven preventive care.

Assessing and analysing technology-related risks in M&A deals

Siemens, a leading industrial manufacturing company in Europe, is enhancing its software due diligence process for M&A transactions by proactively identifying potential risks. Assessing technology in mergers and acquisitions, especially when acquiring digital software assets, can be complex due to the proprietary nature of the source code and the expertise embedded in it. To ensure a smooth integration into the digital ecosystem, Siemens conducts thorough assessments covering license compliance, programming, architecture, cybersecurity, and agility. Utilizing digital software scanners and expert knowledge, Siemens evaluates the software assets for defects and compatibility, ultimately transforming the collected data into actionable insights through a business intelligence solution
