CleanSlate UV, a Toronto-based intelligent biosafety startup that provides a hospital-grade, chemical-free sanitizer for smartphones and personal items, may be able to assist in resolving the issue. With over 2,500 deployments worldwide, they have successfully brought their solution to a wide range of industries, including healthcare, transportation, corporate, retail, hospitality, and food processing.
The CleanSlate device uses UV light, which is normally blocked by the ozone layer and has wavelengths ranging from 100 to 280 nm. UV-C light is a 220 year old technology that can be used to kill bacteria and viruses by disrupting their DNA and RNA.
Unlike traditional chemical wipes, which can damage mobile device screens, the CleanSlate can sanitize multiple items in 20 seconds and inactivate up to 99.9998 percent of the most resilient bacteria and viruses while not harming sensitive touchscreens, cameras, or IR sensors. It is currently the fastest sanitizer with the highest efficacy on the market, and it delivers two and a half times more UV light doses in 20 seconds than the competition.
Another feature that distinguishes CleanSlate is its touch-free lid removal. When users place their items inside the sanitizer and close the lid, the device prompts them to clean their hands right away. Once the 20-second sanitization cycle is complete, the lid will automatically open, allowing users to retrieve their items without touching anything other than their sanitized devices. Essentially, this process ensures that only clean hands touch clean devices.
