Headquartered in San Diego, California, we have two main divisions:
- In a division, we sell preconfigured packages such as Content Writing or Backlinks at set prices.
- The other division is more of the traditional agency engagement, where we work with customers on a long-term basis.

- We hire top talent–While our competitors are looking for cheaper talent, we’re hiring more expensive talent and giving raises. Customers don’t come to us because we’re the cheapest; they come to us because, they are willing to pay for quality.
- The volume of customers that we have–Only after a few years in business, we’re quickly approaching our 3000th customer, which most agencies would have never achieved this in their lifetime. This gives us a massive amount of data to know what works and what does not. There’s never a time that we’ve not tested new cutting-edge techniques or retired old tactics that no longer get results.
Could You List Few Of Your Seo Packages With A Brief Description?
Our top seller is our ‘Standard’– monthly managed SEO service, at $2500. It’s a complete SEO strategy which includes a dedicated account manager. Customers like this package a lot because they know that their SEO is being handled and never have to think about it anymore.
Our preconfigured packages are popular as well; however, these are designed for customers who know what they want. For example, a business owner who is managing his/her own SEO might only need backlinks and nothing else. Almost 50% of our customers who opt for our preconfigured-packages are other agencies who resell our work. We also have a ‘Build Your Own Custom Package’ tool available, on our services page, which is introduced first time in the SEO industry. It helps customers who don’t want either of the packages mentioned earlier but need to speak with us directly; and who can order a complete SEO package, pay with a credit card, and have the completed work delivered to their inbox.
How do you customize your packages when the customers range from a new, small, and local business to national and international business in the market?
Our preconfigured packages are not designed to be highly customizable; it’s more of a high-quality assembly line. We want our customers to quickly get what they need and get consistent results; something similar to, no matter which Starbucks you go to around the world, you always get an experience of the same cup of coffee and quality.
However, it’s different on the agency side. Because, we work with agency customers month over month to see what tactics are working and which are not, specifically for their website. For example, if backlinks didn’t work the previous month, but content writing did, we’ll customize accordingly. Our agency packages start with a list of tactics, but we shift around our efforts over time.
Large national/international brands require special care. Unlike small websites where it might only be us and the business owner under the hood, with large brands we are often one team among many that need to carefully coordinate efforts. With SEO, we try to stay out of everyone’s way and operate mostly in the background, but some changes. Especially, text/ content often requires a multi-team meeting to get approval. We’re accustomed to operating in this type of environment.
How does Rank Harvest keep itself updated on the latest SEO techniques as and when the algorithms change on the popular search engines?
Reading about recent algorithm changes is the easiest part; whereas, recognizing changes that aren’t announced publicly is the hardest part. Thankfully, with our volume of accounts, we’re among the first to recognize when something has changed. We expect to see changes around how Google handles AI content soon; if Google starts to think that users are not finding AI content valuable, it could pull the rug out from under the websites who have relied on it too heavily. Or, Google could embrace AI writing and perhaps launch its own version of ChatGPT. It’s too soon to tell.
What is your inspiration behind this SEO business that has led you to stand out as an extraordinary winning performer of all the other competitors?
I spent half my career in the corporate world as a buyer of marketing services, long before starting my own agency. I know how the corporate world works and what they expect! My skills were sharpened in the same boardrooms where my customers now sit. There’s no tolerance for poor performance or excuses–if you’re not generating a return on their investment, you will be replaced.
We work with small, non-corporate customers as well. As we know how to get results for larger companies in the competitive industries, we apply the same techniques to our smaller customers as well. We’ve worked with some of the largest and the smallest companies in the world.
About the CEO & Founder:
I, Michael Chagala, am the Founder and CEO of Rank Harvest. I got my start by sweeping the server room floor at a software development agency as an unpaid intern. Through my hard work and determination, I worked my level up to the Director level and was eventually part of a small team that took a company from annual revenue of 20 million to close to a 70 million in a few short years. This gave me the experience to later run a successful company of my own. My technical skills were developed on early after spending years as a developer in a cubicle. Today, I am just as comfortable in a business strategy meeting as writing code – a perfect mix for digital marketing!
