How do you provide visibility to your customers with real-time tracking?
CDL 1000 provides dynamic data with transparency to customers through the port terminal and steamship line integrations and also through other third party data sources. It collates data through our powerful one collaborative platform by providing advanced analytics and other capabilities, where the customers can track and trace their shipments on a global scale.
Which part of your business has blown up in a greater way that paved way to expand the business into trucking, devising algorithms to price and schedule large numbers of shipments, and an easy-to-use “DoorDash-like” interface for customers?
The major thrust which has allowed CDL1000 to be an industry leader in AI and technology is the business of trucking itself. Though freight shipping is an industry of innovation, there are a lot of legacy businesses in this industry, and thus, CDL1000 has had a wide-open opportunity to try new technologies. The other major advantage that we see is that we are relatively small, which allows us to be nimble in ways
where bigger companies cannot. If we want to add a new AI to our pricing, we can. There isn’t so much legacy code that we can’t throw it all out and start over within a few weeks.
On the side of the interface, building microservices which accomplish this are easy; our biggest advantage lies within working with good designers and experienced web designing professionals.
CDL 1000 being the leader in drayage, you eliminate Demurrage fees with your contract. What is your strategy behind it?
We disrupt the drayage space by eliminating demurrage fees for customers completely. CDL is the first company in the area to take 100% accountability for the costs of demurrage charges. We eliminate these costs for the exchange of volume of customers. CDL 1000’s extensive carrier network allows us to cater to the shipper’s needs in the best possible way to eliminate the demurrage charges from their P&L, by giving the CFOs and Accounting the plethora of cost savings in the existing marketplace.
The Demurrage as a Service (DaaS) platform is a proprietary technology that ensures shippers to pay and audit all charges associated with their container cargo with port/terminal transactions. DaaS provides visibility to track and trace the container movement globally before it enters the US Ports, by providing incremental value in monitoring as we manage your freight.
While the logistics industry goes through a metamorphosis, how does your AI assistant, RUBY, help in the transformation to produce the best solutions?
RUBY is slated to become the first LLM for midsized logistics brokers and carriers. It’s as simple as that. There are other attempts at Freight based LLMs, but we specialized in a couple of particular pieces of the logistics industry, where our customers can really benefit from a more up-to-date virtual assistant.
